Finally, it is spring! I love the change and the promise of renewal the spring season brings. Now is the perfect time of year to freshen up our homes for spring, bringing that spring freshness inside our homes. I want to share with you 5 easy ways to brighten up your home for spring. These simple tips will create big impact when decorating for spring.

1. Lighten Your Windows

I love the beautiful textures of spring - soft and welcoming. Lighten up your windows by putting up drapes made of sheer fabric.

I visualize open windows with sheer drapes billowing in the spring breeze. It's also a wonderful way to allow the sunshine to stream in. Time to wash the windows!

2. Bring On The Flowers

Let flowers take center stage on your table. Bring in an abundance of blooms. Our local farmer's market is bursting with beautiful flowers for inexpensive prices.

3. Floors And Mirrors

Roll up your heavy rugs. I have lightened the look of my family room with a stripe rug. This blue and white striped rug feels fresh and clean for spring!

Also, consider hanging your mirrors to reflect your view from outside. The mirror over my fireplace reflects greenery and sunlight into my family room.

4. Throw Pillow Update

I am still sticking with my favorite grey color palette, refreshing it with blue. Blue and white is a classic fresh choice and I love it mixed with grey. Again you will notice my love of stripes for spring!

My living room sofa was kept simple and lighten with linen cotton textured pillows. I used a lot of white to lighten the dark sofa for spring. I love the floral print in here. I have kept out my chunky knit throws for unexpected cool spring nights.

5. Bringing In The Green

Bring the spring vibe inside your home with greenery. Plants add so much to a room. If you don't have a green thumb try a couple of cut branches off a shrub or tree. I also like using faux plants.
