Five Ways to Set the Perfect Thanksgiving Table

Five Ways to Set the Perfect Thanksgiving Table

Welcome to my blog! Special thanks to Susana at toochicforwords.com for hosting!  I've teamed up with four other fabulous bloggers to show you five ways to set the perfect Thanksgiving table!  After your visit with me you will be able to link to various gorgeous tablescapes for Thanksgiving. We hope that combined we will give you inspiration and confidence to set your own beautiful table for the holiday.

Five ways to set the perfect Thanksgiving table. My way of setting the Thanksgiving table is perfect for my family. Our tradition throughout the years is to gather for our holiday meal around a beautifully set Thanksgiving table.

I love Thanksgiving on this rustic farmhouse table. I added this traditionally fall plaid table runner I found at HomeGoods.

Beautiful gold leaves!!! I couldn't resist these gorgeous gold leaf plates at HomeGoods. Luckily they also carried the perfect gold chargers to compliment them.

I was raised in Southern California so Thanksgiving meant warm weather and wearing shorts. The whole extended family would meet at Grandma's house. The adults were in the house cooking all day, while we kids played in the backyard. We would eat outside - there was the inevitable adults' table and a kids' table.

This old ceramic turkey was my Grandma's. I love having it out every year on my table.

I do like syrah wines. How perfect is this label for the holiday?! It's delicious too.

This gold banner really adds to the festive atmosphere!

When my girls were young we made the trip down to their grandma's (aka my mom's) house for Thanksgiving. My mom moved the dinner indoors. She kept the tradition of the adult table and the kid table but expanded on the theme. My mom actually spent most of her time and effort decorating the kids' table. She had coloring books and colorful paper for making party hats, fall leaves, and turkeys. Baskets of candy corn and chocolate turkeys were set out too. The kids always helped Grandma roll out the dough for pumpkin pie which she made from scratch every year. These are fabulous Thanksgiving memories we will cherish forever.

I love placing these beautiful long stemmed white pumpkins on everyone's plates. I wrap artificial bittersweet around the stems with wire for added color.

Thanksgiving is different for us now. Our girls are young adults. It's become a smaller gathering. My husband usually works Thanksgiving, so we plan dinner when he is free (he's in the hotel business and it's one of their busiest days). The morning starts with the local charity 'turkey trot 5k'. Then my girls make their favorite side dishes and I make the turkey. The TV is streaming Netflix all day. I still like to set a beautiful traditional Thanksgiving table for this special holiday. We still take time before our meal to mention something we are thankful for. After wrapping up the leftovers from our feast and washing dishes we gather around the TV and watch a traditional Christmas movie while enjoying our pumpkin pie (unfortunately not homemade by my mom). It is so wonderful to have time to be all gathered together!  We go to bed so full and grateful for the day, and dream of leftover turkey sandwiches!

Flowers and gold accents make a simple yet perfect center piece.

I appreciate having the little touches for fall out too; like acorns surrounding the candles.

However you celebrate your Thanksgiving holiday I hope your tradition includes a beautifully set Thanksgiving table! Happy Thanksgiving!

I would love you to see how my friends are decorating their Thanksgiving tables! Below you will see a sneak peek and link to their blogs. I think you will find each one is beautiful, unique, and full of inspiration!!
